01/26/2007 | btet | CD 3 is 80:24 and will require an overburn on an 80 min. CD. I didn't notice this because I generally don't use CDs anymore, but listen straight from my hard drives.
06/19/2009 | charlie miller | Patch in throwing stones is way off.
06/19/2009 | charlie miller | I should have been more helpful in my previous comment. This source has a 3:33 patch in Throwing Stones. I just did a new transfer of the cassette master and it only needed a 7 second patch. So either Bill made a mistake, which I kinda doubt, or my original transfer was flawed and part of the file was cut somehow, which is probably what happened. Also, my original seed had the channels swapped, which my new transfer (which will be circulated today) has the channel swap fixed.

Following up on the mystery :-), I found my backup copy of the original Miller source (77446) and found out the following: - It verifies with the .md5 downloaded from this page - The Barbella source Throwing Stones (which was my main patch source) clocks in at 8:55 while the Miller source has it at 5:40 - Listening now to the just reverified original source, the cut starts just before the second half of the second verse ("hits you and me, you and m-") at 1:57 and comes back in at the post-"on our own" jam, 33 seconds before the second bridge ("When the game is lost"). So the second half of the second verse, all of the third and the first "commissars" bridge, plus most of the "on our own" jam, is missing. Conclusion #1 - there was indeed a transcription error on the original source. Conclusion #2 - Who gives a flying $@%#!? Charlie's got it covered with a remaster that puts my patch edit in the remainders bin! Few things make me happier. :-D |

06/20/2009 | btet | Sorry, I forgot, the "on our own" jam is after the second bridge, not the first. It's complete on Charlie's original source, too. |
