notes:

I downloaded this show on a bit torrent from EZT.
There were small gaps between each track.  I reconstituted into one large file, then eliminated a few minor clicks.  I also boosted the level in the left channel slightly and re-mastered using Wavelab and several plugins (mostly iZotope Ozone).

Comments:

Before this appeared on EZT I'd never seen this show in circulation.  There are a number of minor flaws but it's a very enjoyable show!

Tracked with CD Wave and shns with mkwACT

11/09/2004 Brian Hart WOW! I'm about to retire from the USN after 21 years, and am preparing to deploy aboard USS Carl Vinson for my 8th and final cruise. I found out about this show nearly 2 years ago, and have been looking for it ever since. Thanks SirMick! I have my own live tunes radio show on KVSN. You can bet this will be played in it's entirety when we pull away from the pier in January. A copy will also be findingits way into the official ship's archive. As for how this show came to be, I was on USS Forrestal in FL at the time of the show. I can't be absolutely sure, but the Navy has always brought big name acts to its bases to entertain the troops. Since the Chucky V was based in Alameda at the time, it would have been easy for Jerry to cross the bay and do a show. I've checked the official ship's log and only a very short entry is made about the event.

12/05/2006 STICKMON63 I have a friend of a friend, named Matt who was the photographer for "The Eagle" the ship's newspaper who took some photos of this show and had a hand held tape recorder that he had recorded the show with. He had sent us a copy of the tape but the quality was terrible. He said there were only 20-30 in attendance, mostly officers who were required to be there and most looked like they were not having a very good time. Matt said he had a blast & danced his ass off. He sent us a copy of "The Eagle" dated 3/10/87 that had a short interview w/Jerry and a couple of photos from the show......this show was supposedly part of Jerry's "comunity service work" as a result of his drug bust in SF back in 85
