0 flac    A+   Notes: This is truly one of the very best George Michael bootlegs to ever surface. This was recorded during the height of his commericial success, on the wildly successful Faith Tour. George is at the very top of his game vocally, even hitting the high notes in "One More Try" with ease. "Hard Day" comes off much better here than it does on record, making for an excellent lead-off track. The Stevie Wonder cover, "Love's In Need Of Love Today" is a song that suits George's voice perfectly and he really shines on it. The hit duet with Aretha Franklin, "I Knew You We're Waiting" is performed solo here, and you really don't miss Aretha, George nails it on his own. "Careless Whisper" is milked to the extreme, with an extended saxaphone solo that really takes this epic to the next level. Deon Estus, bass player and backround vocalist is a standout on this recording, laying down a solid groove throughout the show. The 1996 unplugged shows are excellent, but this recording, with a full band is very, very special.

2 FLAC    A  Notes from the .txt file: Another one, this time from the "Love Of Hopeless Causes" Tour in 1993. I'm not sure about this one, on the tradelist it was labeled as a soundboard, though I'm not 100% postive about this - the sound is quite good though. I also read that it might be from the first night on May 4, anyone can confirm this? The setlists I've seen would indicate it is really from the 5th... finally, according to setlists, this is missing the last two songs. Is there a complete version around? Three days later I saw them in a really dusty show in Hamburg's Stadtpark. It hadn't rained for two weeks (a rarity in Hamburg), and the floor was so dry dustclouds erupted constantly among the dancing crowd, causing quite a bit of choking.

1 CDR    B+ B+  Comments: Tracks 1-4: recorded live in Vienna, 1991 [Rotterdam, Holland 09/01/91], Tracks 5-15: recorded live in New Orleans, LA, 07/12/91 This is the same show as Slaves, but with four extra songs at the beginning from September '91 and it also includes the "Now I'm Nothing" intro to Terrible Lie. The first four songs are from a Holland Radio Interview broadcast the day after the concert in Rotterdam, Holland. They are mislabelled on the cover as being in Vienna. However, they are soundboard recordings of these songs, and they are mixed very well on this CD, and are of excellent quality.

1 CDR    A  Notes from origional download: This concert was a private party for reps from the Word Record Company. Phil's newest album, CRIMSON AND BLUE, was about to be released and this was a listening party at the STUDIOS AT LOS COLINOS in Dallas, Tx. (It was a weekend event that showcased several WORD artist's upcoming albums) The band had been done with the album and the mixing and production had wrapped up. They did one rehearsal for the show and the atmosphere was great! Lots of energy, smiles and jams! They rocked! I was invited by WORD to speak at a business meeting about how they were going to market this album (I am a long time fan/friend of Phil's and know a bit about his musical journey). Since I was there, I recorded. I ran lines from the stereo soundboard into a FOSTEX 4 track machine on 2 tracks. This was transferred into SOUNDFORGE and the wav files were converted with FLAC frontend. I hope you enjoy the concert.. compliments of Phil himself!

1 FLAC       This is certainly a subpar recording. I set my record levels far too low, and when the lights went down I never checked them. The levels had to be boosted significantly in post-production, to the point where hiss is evident in the music portion of the recording.
 10/29/07 The Forum II
Melbourne, Australia
1 FLAC       Recording Notes: The show was recorded about 7 rows back and maybe 3 seats left of center. Mics were clipped the the zip of a jumper: facing forwards and slightly outwards. I didn't get a chance to check my levels due to stealth taping this so I had to raise them later. Because of this there is a bit of a hiss on the recording. This is only as noticable on the acoustic part of the set. I had time to adjust my levels for the Q+A so I only needed to raise the volume +16db.

1 CDR    A A-  Notes from the boot: The boys were in town (Orlando) for a private concert at the Hard Rock and decided to book a show at the HOB. It was short notice, so an early start time was established. The concert was announced on a Thursday, tickets went on sale Friday morning, promptly SOLD OUT, and the concert was Sunday night. Needless to say, they don't come to Florida real often. Getting a rig into a punk show at the HOB in Orlando is almost impossible, but after hiding it in plain sight(said it was my beeper), I was off to record a great Social D show that included two songs to later appear on the new release, "Sex, Love & Rock & Roll" as well as the usual great banter from Mike Ness. At the end of the show after two encore songs, Mike says he wants to dedicate the last number to a friend who's no longer on this eart....and they proceed to "RIP" through Johnny Cash's "Ring Of Fire" The highlight of the night for me considering he passed away a few months prior. I think it sounds pretty clear for a punk show at the HOB, but you be the judge. This is my second torrent, so I'm still learning this thing. enjoy!!! Artwork & ticket stub included

1 CDR     A+  From the boot notes: 1982-83. Dublin, Ireland. Windmill Lane Recording Studios. (Studio sessions.) Sound Quality: Excellent studio. Comments: The quality here is consistent with that of the bootleg TWO HEARTS BEAT AS ONE. While the sound quality of these recordings is excellent, the thirteen different versions of "Two Hearts Beat As One" vary so slightly as to be almost negligible. All are almost identical in length, with occasional differences in the effects used on each instrument (including Bono's voice). Where the titles come from is unclear.

1 FLAC    B+ B+  This concert was recorded during the Amnesty International Tour. The CD contains a long version of "Bad" (nearly 13 minutes) with "Candle In The Wind" and "Biko" at the end sung two times by Bono, but the drawback is that this track was artificially lengthened by someone splicing the center section back onto the end of the song. The Edge plays a very aggressive guitar during "Pride (In The Name Of Love)," with an unusual amount of "rock" distortion. "Sunday Bloody Sunday" is played very softly and slowly. Some mistakes on the cover: "Sunday Bloody Sunday" is written by U2 and not by Lennon/Ono, "Bad" is not by Castor/Pruitt/Thomas/Gibson. Track 8 is mentioned as "Not So Far Away (Sun City)" instead of "Sun City". The booklet is minimal with no information concerning the tour. This is a good document of one of the few shows U2 performed in 1986. Although the sound isn't as crisp as a soundboard, all the instruments come through very well. Crowd noise, though present, is manageable and not distracting. There's also quite a few covers here, including a fairly rare take on "Sun City." This is the original pressing on this label. ? 1999 "For Love Or Money ? - A Guide To U2 Bootleg CDs" and Sascha Kremer

2 CDR    A  NOTE: This is an outstanding bootleg of a great concert. Converted to CDR from the master tape, the sound on this bootleg is clear and crisp. There is no background noise and audience noise is not a problem. All instruments are clearly audible and Bono's voice is prominent.

2 DVD    A+ A+  This is probably the best pro-shot DVD of the entire Zoo TV Tour. Great concert. Bono has a lot of aggression and energy (especially during "Bullet The Blue Sky"). This concert was broadcast into the home of an MTV Europe contest winner. Bono speaks to the winner, John, throughout the concert.

2 SHN    A  Note included with boot: This is an excellent soundboard recording of the PopMart concert in Mannheim, Germany. Somebody has been sitting on it forever, because it just surfaced at the beginning of June. Vocals and instruments are both perfectly clear in this recording. You can hear Bono talking in between songs like he is standing in your livign room...absolutely incredible! Don't pass it up.

1 SHN    A- B+  The back cover says "soundboard". Sounds more like a good audience recording to me, though I think it does sound alright.
