he Black Crowes 1990 - 1997 Tall As You Can See Compilation Low Gen VHS Audience Cam Sources > VCD > MPEG (352 X 240) Audio & Video Quality - Very Good A compilation of non-lp, rare and/or unreleased clips which were performed live from 1990 through 1997. These clips are from a VCD set originally compiled and shared by ScratchMonkey back in 2000 or so. The mpegs here were converted from the original VCD .dat files. A very nice job on the authoring which includes an intro on each disc as well as song titles and date/venue info at the beginning of each clip. Here are some notes from the original site ScratchMonkey had put together for the set: "There have been some enhancements and fixes to the "TAYCS" set since the VCD compilation was first offered up to the trading community. Originally there were some annoying synch problems between audio and video on about 6 songs. This has been cured! Also, since I was doing some so-called "remastering", I figured it wouldn't hurt to include a coiple of songs that should've been included the first time around. These songs are "Bitter Bitter You" & "Bewildered" that were both taken from the 07.18.93 set. I'd like to thank James Dean & Riverside Productions for their unbelievable 2-CD compilation of unreleased Black Crowes tracks known as "Tall As Can Be". That set served as the basis for this VCD set. Without their hardwork and vision "TAYCS" would never exist. With that said.... welcome to Tall As You Can See...ver. 2.0"

CD title: Ain't That America- NYC 1990 New York City 1990 (06/04/90) label: KTS(Kiss The Stone) inn Italy sound quality: (EX+) Silver CD> EAC-secure mode-wave> FLAC frontend (level 6) The Crowes did NOT play in NYC 04 June 1990 According to crowesbase (http://www.crowesbase.com/tapelisting.cfm?TapeID=1112) they were playing the Pink Pop Festival in Landgraaf, Holland. That show was broadcast on a local FM station and judging by the quality (and general mix) of this disc it is plausible that this is what is represented on this excellent disc. The only rub is that the set list on crowesbase lists "Stare It Cold" in place of STTA. Crowesbase list a show in Cleveland, OH on 06 April 1990 with a set list that matches, but only lists an AUD source. It is almost certainly a FM or pFM source because they censor the word "shit" from "Thick N' Thin" at about 1:10 into the track. It's not likely that they would censor this in Holland....this could be a partial show too. So...if any Amoricans come across this, and can shed any light on the origin of this recording, please update these notes! Peace

There seems to be 3 versions of this show. This one seems to be the most complete version. The others are..... Kiss The Stone (KTS)......"Ain't That America" Listed as New York 1990 Heavy Metal Records 005..."Live in Hollywood" Listed as S.I.R. Studios 1990 The KTS has "She Talks to Angels" but I believe it is from another show. Again...any Amoricans that can shed some light on this please update these notes! My guess 04 June 1990 - Pink Pop Festival - Landgraaf, Holland or is 05 June 1990 - Paradiso - Amsterdam, Holland...I seem to remember a video clip of Jealous Guy that sounds a lot like the one here
