Looking at the World From The Bottom of a Well Thank You, Lord, For Sending Me The F Train The Only Answer 40 Grand In The Hole Sunkeneyed Girl
Buskers - musicians that play in the subway for spare change - are the hardest working people in show business. I know this because I tried it when I was 19, in the tunnel between the 3 train and the F train at 14th St. I lasted about ten minutes. I went back there recently, this time with some recording gear, and tried again. This time I made $3.10 - two dollar bills, four quarters, and a dime. The next time you see a guy singing in a public transportation system, give them a buck and tell them I said hi. - Mike Doughty, NYC 2007
