The audience for the four-CD box set In Their Own Voices: A Century of Recorded Poetry is limited, but for those that want to delve deep into this collection, which features poets reading their own work and there are over 120 poems included, will find this immensely rewarding. Beginning with an 1890 recording of Walt Whitman reading "America," the set runs through many of the greatest poets of the next 100 years, who all have representative, if not their most famous, poems included. There are some omissions ? T.S. Eliot was not included, for instance ? but there has never been a set like this compiled before, nor is it likely to happen again. In their Own Voices is a treasure for poetry and spoken word devotees.
