Marvin Tate is a brilliant black poet who speaks about his own experience unabashedly and unashamed. He is honest to the point of making some people uncomfortable, he is confrontational, he is arrogant, and he is a very very effective performance artist. D-Settlement was an 11 piece band featuring (mostly) Marvin's work set to almost Funkadelic-type music. There has never been anything quite like it before, and probably never will be again.
