Black Cat Runaway High Rise Ghosts Seventeen I'm Not Scared [false starts, song abandoned due to technical problems] True Mathematics Season of Illusions Soft Power Discotraxx [false starts, band walks off stage] [stage announcement, show canceled thereafter]
This was my first attempt at recording any band, and given the conditions, it came out decent. Of course my camera couldn't allow zooming in video record mode, plus I had to deal with a few heads, a drunk guy, and me singing in some parts =X. But it came out better than I thought. The show itself....bizarre. Ladytron was co-headlining with The Faint and came on first. I had seen them previously at the Palladium last year and blew me away so I knew what to expect. The set started out pretty good and very electric. However during "High Rise" there began technical issues with Helen's monitor going out and several sequencers failing. But they managed to continue through the glitches until they tried to play "I'm Not Scared". For whatever reason, their monitors and sequencers just failed causing them to stop. After three failed attempts, Helen apologized to the crowd and the band walked off the stage as the technicians began to rectify the problems. After five minutes the band came back on and continued their set. So everything seemed okay as they played three more songs. Then disaster happened...they attempted to play "Discotraxx" when yet the same tech problems occurred. As this point I felt really, really terrible for Ladytron, they were so embarrassed and confused. Helen apologized and the band walked off stage as the techs tried to fix the problem again. After the delay, the stage manager came on the mic and said the tech problems were unfixable and that the band could not continue as the rest of the set was canceled and The Faint would be coming on soon. It was a tough thing indeed. We were disappointed but we understood. So we left [didnt care to see The Faint] and waiting back behind the venue for about 15 minutes and managed to meet Helen, Mira, and Daniel from Ladytron. They apologized profusely and were embarrassed, Helen said they were in their tour bus with their heads buried in their hands, unsure of what to think. But we did cheer them up, the handful of fans who stayed around that is, and told them that we still had a great time and it was an honor to have seen them again and to not worry as disasters happen but we still love them and will continue to follow them. I am pretty sure that made them feel better about the situation. So we cavorted and talked about the show and the future tour with Depeche Mode in Europe and I did get pictures with them =]]] which made up for it all. They are such NICE and CLASSY people. Very down-to-earth and conversational, treated us like royalty, treated them like royalty. If you ever get the opportunity to say hi, do it, they are very approachable. Overall, its was a successful failure. The show may have been a bust but I did get the footage and did get to meet them and hopefully made their night a little better with my support. And pics with Helen and Mira weren't bad either ;=]
