Polygram remasters (1995) of "Historic Dead" & "Vintage Dead"

Tech Notes:

Background on these LPs:
These 2 LPs were release without explicit permission from the Dead.
Producer Robert Cohen (a bit more on Mr. Cohen here:
http://www.lumiereprod.com/history.html) got the masters from recordings
made at the Avalon, adding applause and other sounds where needed to help
the flow (there is a bit of audio, a small segment with some mostly
inaudible band chatter, which was added to "extend" tracks so they wouldn't
end so abruptly. The same segment used in a couple of different spots, once
as a loop that repeats 2-3 times). Some of the songs have cut intros, but
are segued with applause anyway. These are pretty much bootleg quality from
today's perspective, and frankly most interest in these LPs is because of
their status as collectibles rather than being worthwhile musically. But
fans of the early days will especially enjoy the lengthy workouts of
"Midnight Hour", "The Same Thing" and "Good Morning Little Schoolgirl".
