I don't think I've seen this around yet. This might be new for many of you.

I receieved this 1st gen in a tape trade about 15 years ago.

I was compelled to revisit this recording, based on someone here had sent me another cassette of this.

I discovered how good my copy was and thought it was time to finally share this one.


This was the first of a 6 night run for BB at the Blue Note.

It was very common for BB to play 2 shows per night.

This could either be the early or late show, I'm not sure.

Also on this first night, BB was introduced by Isaac Hayes, though not present on this tape.

This is the full broadcast. We get the biggest chunk of the show here.

Though it's obviously missing the blues band instrumental opening tracks and another 20 minutes or so from the middle of the show.

Being a 1st gen copy, this is Really Clean sounding and very well mixed.


Recording Notes:

The tape flip was during track 11 'Rock Me Baby' @ 3:00, very quick flip.
