Personal notes from Starbraker:
"Alcatrazz was a mid-80's metal band that featured two of the greatest guitar virtuoso's of all time, Yngwie Malmsteen and Steve Vai.
They were fronted by former Rainbow singer, Graham Bonnet. They did one studio album with Malmsteen and another with Vai.
After Vai left, they did one more album with guitarist Danny Johnson and then broke up.
I was lucky enough to see them with Yngwie back in 1984 as an opening act for Ted Nugent at a club
called 'Twilight Zone' in New Haven, CT, it was an incredible gig!
Fast forward to 2011 and Graham Bonnet had been doing an Alcatrazz revival for several years.
The following gig has a cool setlist which includes material from Rainbow, Alcatrazz, and The Michael Schenker group
(who Bonnet recorded an album with in 1983).
Sadly, there were only around 150 people in attendance for this gig in a venue that held 360 people.
Those who were in attendance got a great show, Howie Simon shredded on guitar, stepping into Yngwie's shoes is no small task!
Bonnet's voice sounded great and has held up well through the years.
Alcatrazz boots are very few and far between so this is a great one to grab!"
