Jimi Hendrix 02/01/18
Hendrix Selected Live Tracks, C-Love's Mix, Various
Set I
01. Little Wing Jam (03-17-68, Cage Au Go-Go, New York City, NY
Jimi Hendrix: guitar,Elvin Bishop: guitar,Buddy Miles: drums,
Paul Butterfield: vocal, harmonica,Harvey Brooks: bass,
Philip Wilson: drums,Herbie Rich: organ.)
C-Love's Comments: "One of the best Little Wings ever played for
sure. Even though there is not lyrics, this song is jammed well
over the usually time of 4 minutes clocking in at around 9. Listen
to Jimi come in around the 8 minute mark, screeching like a
Banshee. Its the only way to describe it. He just comes in wailing.
Its to bad though the person who has the masters to these decided
to fade out all the tracks on this date!"

02. Hey Baby (Land of the New Rising Sun) ->
03. All Along The Watchtower (09-03-70, K.B. Hallen,Copenhagen,Denmark)
C-Love's Comments: "This magical segue played only months before
Hendrix died is one the shining points in his last few concerts.
Jimi manages to get an almost "Cathedral Like" Sound on Hey Baby,
Then seques nicely into a crazy watchtower. Listen to jimi in the
second verse and through the end of watchtower throw in all the
lead guitar licks in between verses. Crazy Crazy!"

04. Purple Haze (03-19-68, Capitol Theatre,Ottawa, Ontario, Canada,
Late Show.)
C-Love's Comments: "An excellent sounding recording with Jimi
showing the Canadian folks how to rock. The 3 minute distortion
feedback sets the tone for this raunchy Purple Haze. The Mixture
of Good Sound and Extended intro makes this one of the best
hazes out there."

05. Pali Gap (From Out of Print Rainbow Bridge Soundtrack 1970)
C-Love's Comments: "This great instrumental track was one of Jimi's
last songs he was working on. There is not much known about this
recording but was set to be on his upcoming album. Jimi is totally
on fire on this track. The only words that come to mind are
"Hot Trigger". Jimi is fast as hell and peaks in the middle of this
song. Making it my favorite instrumental track!"

06. Stone Free (Funky Verison)(Part of the Rainy Day Sessions)
Twice's Comments: Great Version of Stone Free. Showing Everybody
out there that jimi was not just some mad loud distorted guitar
player. Jimi really shows his funk on this one. Enjoy!"

07. Burning Desire (01-01-70, Filmore East, New York City New York
Early Show, Band of Gypsys)
Twice's Comments: "Great all around version of this song. Extending
to almost 10 minutes. I love the way jimi goes into the fast jam
after the lyrics are done. Then teases one of his unfinished songs
called Night Bird Flying. Buddy Miles's steady drumming really adds
fuel to keeping this song going. The combination of him and Billy
Cox's Backround vocal bring alot to this great song as well!"

08. Bleeding Heart Blues (RAH - 2-2401969)
Twice's Comments: "Great Bluesy Song with Extended Intro. This song
Clock's in at 8:30 minutes. Hendrix really shines on this
song! I was going to put a great version of Red House to fill this
but decided to pick something obscure instead. Sorry!"

09. Machine Gun (08-30-70, Isle Of Wight Festival, East Afton Farm)
Twice's Comment: Great Machine Gun closes this cd. This is one of
the best Machine Gun's ever played clocking in at almost 22 Minutes.
It includes Jimi picking up Security Guard Transmissions, A Great
Drum solo by Mitch, And alternate lyrics tossed in on the ending!
Jimi's distored guitar takes you to another level. If i had to pick
a song to best describe Jimi, this song and this version would be on
the top of my list. If you have a chance to pick this up on video,
I promise you will not be dissapointed!
