The longest performance of this medley was on 7 February 1980 at Los Angeles Sports Arena when "Another Brick in the Wall (Part III)" was stretched to over 13 minutes - Wikipedia Well not quite, but 12 minutes and 39 seconds anyhow! The Dolby was not switched back and forth, that on again off again hiss comes from the special effects tapes played over the PA About the fire. Someone shot off a good sized sky-rocket and the incredible burst of colors had more than the intended effect. It took a while but it was soon obvious that the smoke effects were coming from the ceiling. That was where the Sports Arena stored the rolled up curtains which were smoldering pretty good by then. Finally there were embers like orange leaves slowly floating down to the stage and Roger announced that the show would have to stop for the fire. The swoooshing noises heard during "Mother" are the fire extinguishers putting out those embers. Once the curtains were rolled down from up high the air got into them and whoosh, flames and then lots of ooohing and awwwwing by the crowd. Kind of stinky and that could be why Mark's response was "No" when Dave asked "wasn't that exciting". Repairs: Due to an intermittent microphone connection tracks 8,9,10 and 16 include significant portions in mono (dual right channel) The tape flips were patched with added applause or music as required to reduce abrupt changes tr07, Mother (tape flip at end of song-missing material) (31 seconds patched from the 1980-02-13 recording by Ken G-thanks for the filler!) tr14, Don't Leave Me Now (tape flip after song-spliced-no music lost) tr20, Nobody Home (tape flip after song-spliced-no music lost) tr27, Run Like Hell (tape flip after song-spliced-no music lost) Where possible the loudest claps were reduced along with the majority of the transport noises that plagued this recording. You may hear it now and then but it is no longer a constant distraction. Equalization to add a little more bottom end (6 dB increase at 44 Hz and a 3 dB increase at 88 Hz). This helps to restore some of the low end lost due to taping location. We were in the loge towards the right side of the center section (pointing the mics at monitors in front and above us) A scan of my ticket stub is included. The ticket shown on the CD version jewel case artwork was not ours but looked nicer for use as cover art. Notes: This show came to me with no information on its Gen.... The reason for no notes is in the fact that when I set out to tweak all the Wall shows it was for my my entertainment and I had no intention to put them out as they are now, they were going to be just for my own trading. So I did not write down everything that I did to a few of the shows.
