"Approximately 7 years ago I took the master tape, played it back on the original tape deck used to record the master and captured it on a sound blaster sound card using sound forge. I then posted it to alt.binaries.gdead. Shortly afterwards I found out that Sound Forge creates SBE's.
Fast forward to yesterday.
I took the master tape, played it back on the original tape deck used to record the master and captured it on the same soundblaster sound card. This time I used CD Wav which does not create SBE's.
The chain of custody between the alt.binaries.gdead post and 23854.sbefail.shnf is unknown.
If you hear a difference, it is my hope it's for the better."
