"nothing ventured, nothing gained" - Bob Weir 7 24 2007
Redrocks security this day were very confused about taping. The lots at the bottom had big chalkboards that said NO audio taping per the arttists request. It usually didnt seem plausible for a GD oriented show. But with Mark Karan sick, we didnt know who was filling in, tho it was widely reported to be Kimock. That made the "possibility" of a no taping thing. So i went right up to the bottom of the gates and asked. Lo and behold they confirmed that it was no taping. I was bummed. Tried to get the rig crotch ready but i just wasnt prepared. Left it in the car and waited the whole line to the top to just go see the show. I asked the security guard at the top and he was all "nope, not tonight". Well the head security guard heard that and said "hold on"..i think that has changed....he did a walkie talkie chat and said ...ya,Wier said let them tape...well..i had just waited an hr in the red rox ramp line..Turned around and literally sprinted down hill a mile to the car..grabbed the gear and literally sprinted back up..cutting folks letting them quickly in passing know why...they were all cool and in about 25 minutes time i had returned to the same spot i had started at..top of the red rox ramps..checked my gear real fast...and got it all set up a few tunes into Keller...an aerobic and mental excercise indeed...So there ya go. jamie
