11/25/2003 | Bill | Great show but serious overload on the vocals throughout.

unfortunately, the man at the board doesn't get the guitar levels right until the 3rd song. Listening to Sugaree and Catfish John, the rest of the band sounds great, but where's JERRY! Excellent seed of 3 twentieth anniversary shows! I've got friends who were at Binghamton and later in the tour Laker Hall in Oswego. Thanks for getting these out!! |

Jerrys vocal levels often are very low on SBD recordings from this era and have a tendency to be inversely related to the level of his guitar. something to do with his onstage monitors/preventing feedback is the explanation i've heard in the past. that is, when he is singing/mic is turned on, his guitar is not coming through the monitor - i he forgets to kick the switch off, his guitar still won't come through the monitor, but that might not be necessary cuz he can hear himself on stage anyway. i dunno. on this show however, i get the impression the recording is a mix from a keyboard or drum monitor which are both extremely prominent in the mix. |

11/10/2005 | myk | Simply the best "Simple..." and one of the best modern day "Mission's" I've heard. My copy suffers from some sound problems too, but they seem to be corrected by the start of the 2nd set.

There appears to be fileset derived from this one in circulation. It had basically the same text file, the following note, and then a whole slew of md5s and ffps (with song names tagged onto the etree-standard track titles): "I have appended the original shn.md5/flac.md5 to the end of this textfile along with the flac16.ffp fingerprint and wav.md5. I created two md5's, one for the FLAC files and one for the WAV files. The FLAC MD5 is to check the integrity of the FLAC, separate from FLACs own checksum system. I also edited this text file slightly. --Thomas J. Festa" Here is the fingerprint for the Thomas Festa flac set: jgb83-11-29d1t - 01 - Sugaree.flac:7bd68706a3ed0272e52baabe9405f9cc jgb83-11-29d1t - 02 - Catfish John.flac:b413308ff83d46b3180bf648e279a52b jgb83-11-29d1t - 03 - Simple Twist Of Fate.flac:ee53375d5ef6e48eeb1964c97628e950 jgb83-11-29d1t - 04 - Run For The Roses.flac:e4b94a92fbc6838dc323ba2acdc75b31 jgb83-11-29d1t - 05 - Rhapsody In Red.flac:ea15881269428cc2af32fe89b3715bff jgb83-11-29d2t - 01 - Cats Under The Stars.flac:c97f0a7b154f8e7cd8cb90eda358ad90 jgb83-11-29d2t - 02 - Mission In The Rain.flac:cc68bbff5f969a1245938eb5e57f0f26 jgb83-11-29d2t - 03 - Love In The Afternoon.flac:561bf0b04faca382189188a918acbf58 jgb83-11-29d2t - 04 - The Way You Do The Things You Do.flac:97b83309e9f4b5c16b8f8002ca569135 jgb83-11-29d2t - 05 - Tangled Up In Blue.flac:f0be6858aec9060d363dd93154544e0f |
