"Bertha Remaster Series"

Bertha Remaster of the PreFM Source (shn id 13948)

SBD(PreFM) > MR>DAT > CDA > Wav(EAC) > SHN > DAW(Bertha) > Audio DVD >
DVD Audio Extractor v.3.3.2 (audio files extracted prior to burning
to DVD disc) > 24/48 wav > downsampled to 44.1 wav with Wave Lab v.5.00a >
dithered from 24 to 16 bit depth with Wave Lab UV22 HR Plugin >
SBEs fixed with shntool v.2.0.3 (by set) > FLAC encoding with
FLAC Frontend v.1.7.1 Etree Edition, FLAC v.1.1.2 (level 8)
(2 discs flac, 3 discs audio)

Digitally Remastered by jashley@deadacated.com. Completed 3/3/2006.

The original source has a large amount of audio level compression applied.
I searched for a source without compression but was unable to find one.
I checked 5 different sourlces, including one on DAT that was obtained 14
years ago and it had the same compression signature.  This means the
audio level compression was applied a long time ago and all subsequent
copies have been derived from that source.

The audio level compression was corrected to the extent possible.

There is an irritating 6khz noise that exists throughout the original source.
This was removed on the Bertha Remaster making for a much more enjoyable
listening experience.

The complete PreFM was used for the Bertha Remaster, which means the same
defects, that exist in Me and My Uncle and Big Rivevr, remain.

Enjoy!

More On DTS

Today's audio standards are moving towards multi-channel
sound, like DTS and Dolby Digital. While the Audio-CD
standard (Red Book) hasn't changed to accommodate these
new sound formats, it is still possible to go around the
specification and to put a 5.1 surround recording on a
regular Audio-CD. To play a DTS-Audio-CD you must connect
your DVD/CD player via a digital cable (optical or coaxial)
to your DTS Dolby-Digital receiver. It is not 100% sure
that your receiver will recognize a DTS-Audio CD, so the
first time you're trying to playback a DTS-Audio-CD you
must do a test to determine if it can. Begin with the
volume very low, start the disc and raise the volume
gradually. NEVER listen to a DTS-Audio-CD through the
analog audio outputs of your CD/DVD player.

Burning Instructions

Burn them the absolute same way as you would burn any
normal Audio-CD from FLAC files.
