Notes about this JGB Tour
I saw three shows on this tour and each one was a hard taping experience.
Binghamton (11/26/83)
Security found a microphone when they were searching me going into the show. They sent me to go check it in for the show. While I was waiting in the check-in line with others, my friend Jack H. from Ithaca came up to me and said "No one's watching, just get out of the line." Got out of the check-in line and was able to record the show - Thanks Jack.
Burlington (12/6/83)
Harry Popick, who was running the board that tour, recognized us as tapers and came up to us before the show and told us: "Be really cool - and no stands".
Oswego (12/11/83) - this upload
Busted FOB with several other tapers. I used to carry extra decoy tapes in my pack and was able to do a quick switch and surrender a decoy tape to security thereby saving the "How Sweet It Is" and 1 minute of "Catfish John". Dave P. and I were in a line of several tapers being escorted to check-in our equipment. We realized we could just duck out of the line and we did. We re-set up in the bleachers and kept it really cool for the rest of the show (including not checking the levels frequently, which I usually like to do). I happened to have an old TDK-SA decoy blank in my pocket and that's what I used for the last two songs (I recorded the jgb uvm tape later - that's why it shows on the tape case image).
