The tour story:
The hot air balloons took off on this morning heading to Albuquerque for their annual race. The guys said they had a balst in town with all the celebrants of the local festivities and a significant but not a huge amount of deadheads in town. The show was again undersold with weather promising to be similar to the day before, ultimately turning out to be better with a shorter less significant rain-shower.

Brent comes out with some nice Hammond licks during the Alabama Getaway opener so Jerry hits back with some kickin' licks of his own. This show rivals the previous night with its' great but smooth and deliberate performance. The 'Greatest Story' continues to build and create a first set of classic "Americana" Dead tunes. Aside from the relatively new, more urban West LA and Bucket they rip through Direwolf, Me & My Mexicali, Althea, CC Rider, and Might as Well. All well played and less rushed than the previous night's first set ending.

Another Help > Slip! > Franklin's for the set 2 opener and it sounds so tight the sound on the mesa must have been captivating. "One watch by Dight" during Franklin's Tower. The Let it Grow continues the tone for the rest of this show. Enjoy.
