09/16/2004 | Hokker | The second set is really good but be warned the stella blue gets so slow it actually comes to a complete stop!
09/18/2004 | Why the heck would anyone split Let it Grow?
09/18/2004 | a disc change in drumz might be considered better than somewhere else in the following 80 minutes of jamming.

If you compare the pre-refined Bertha version to the refined Bertha version, i think you'll hear that the work Jay and i did on this GREAT show makes it well worth adding this version to your collection! anyone care to trade and see for yourself? (Notice there's no split in Let it Grow) Here's what I have: Grateful Dead Orpheum Theatre, San Francisco, CA July 18, 1976 (CDA - 3 discs, SHN - 3 discs) S : PreFM > MR > PCM > DAT > CDA > DAW (Bertha) > CDA - d1t01 and d3 S : FM > R > DAT > CDA > DAW (Bertha) > CDA - d1t02-d2t07 Bertha Remaster by jashley@deadacated.com Bertha Remaster refined by Chris Frisco, 10/02 Disc 1 Set 1 01. Goode Notes: Digitally remastered using a custom built, Dual-DAW, nicknamed Bertha, by jashley@deadacated.com on 2/14/2002. Some tracks are from an FM source. All PreFM versions are this way. More than 30 small dropouts and glitches were repaired. Most of these problems seem to be the same as would be found in HD transfers where the buffer settings were improperly set. Regardless of whether it was a HD transfer, or a PCM transfer, it is one of the worst digital transfers I have seen. Hopefully, the work done to correct these problems makes listening a bit more enjoyable. jay Post Bertha: De-glitched by Chris Frisco at the Frisco Refinery, and seeded to CDead Oct. 2002. An additional 34 dropouts and glitches were repaired. Only the strange remain (the following glitches could not be fixed without altering the wav, so were left alone): d1t5: 4.00, 8.28 d2t3: 6.33 d2t6: 1.20 d2t7: 1.03, 1.46 d3t10: 3.40 |

09/18/2004 | Diana | So Chris, I take it this AJF seed would be "pre-refined"? If you have the txt/md5s for your seed, please do submit the info using the link at the bottom of the GD tables or at the bottom of the front db.etree.org page, so it'll get its own record. Thanks! |
