Grateful Dead 05/21/95
Sam Boyd Silver Bowl, U.N.L.V., Las Vegas, NV
Source Summary
Primary source: SBD: Dat > Cass > Dat > Cass2 > Dat > CDR > SHN (/shninfo_detail.php?shnid=15077). Secondary source: SBD>DAT>DAT>CDR>WAV>SHN from partial second set recording. NOTE: Primary source was slightly fast, suspected on listening initially and confirmed easily by comparing to a DSBD partial source. The pitch issue as well as a few other technical shortcomings are taken care of as well as the upgrade for most of the second set (see info file).

Comments (1) with Carter Beauford, drummer for the Dave Matthews Band.

Primary source was slightly fast, suspected on listening initially and confirmed easily by comparing to a  DSBD partial source.  A 3.8% reduction in speed (corresponding to a  -0.65 semitone pitch shift) was applied using SF6 to the entire primary source to bring it in tune with the DSBD source.  Also a +2.0 dB gain was applied to bring the level comparable to the analog-free source.  Then, the complete tracks from the analog-free source were spliced in using SF6.

Thanks to M.Rodriguez for the DSBD partial second set source and the primary source SHNs.

09/10/2003 Brian B. I'm normally not one for doing this sort of thing, and don't really know the proper etiquette for this, but the following tracks were all played on Grateful Dead Hour no. 383:
02 Unbroken Chain*
01 Space* >
02 Spanish Jam* >
03 The Other One* >
04 Days Between* >
05 Sugar Magnolia*
If this is from a disk straight from the sbd(and not from the radio),then the lineage is correct.
09/11/2003 Chris L. the second set partial is as indicated without any FM compression.
09/30/2003 mike r Chris L is correct. I got the seed a pre-fm source & I can gaurantee you that this is what was used to play on the radio, not a source taken from after the radio show was aired.
