Notes:
Thanks to Vance McNabb for his help in getting gear inside. Thanks to Mark for the duct tape.
24/96 .flac24 files of this stereo recording are available immediately.
Mics were arrayed in a Corey-Martin surround configuration, with 4015 subcardioids (the source of this recording) A-B, spaced about 12", and a pair of DPA 4011's oriented vertically, aimed at the ceiling, spaced about 14", and placed behind the forward-facing subcardioids. All channels were tracked to disk simultaneously, and should result in a multichannel, 24/96 surround DVD-Audio disc in the near future (Hi, Eric!). The source for the surround channels was the following:
DPA 4011 > DPA AO0182 XLR > Metric Halo Mobile I/O 2882 +DSP FireWire Interface (slaved to V3 clock @ 96kHz via AES) > Apple PowerBook G4/1gHz/768MB > Metric Halo MIO Beta Recording Console (@ 24-bit / 96kHz).
