03/15/2005 Hoot Sean on behalf of the trading comunity a big THANKS!!! for all your hard work!!!!
03/15/2005 Mark Goldey Prior comments to the effect that the patches are not good, or that they are good, have been deleted for lack of kindness. Anyone who can express an opinion politely is encouraged to do that.
03/15/2005 Lewis/Klitschko I'm coming in late after all the comments have been deleted- I hope the baby hasn't been thrown out with the bathwater. I think analysis of new sources only serves this site, pro and con.
03/15/2005 cm_hayden Thanks Sean for your tireless efforts and excellent work.
03/15/2005 cortez First off thanks for all your efforts in getting this show out to the masses.

My question is ...ultimately is this seed better than the others ..? What are the differences..?

I think this is a great show and healthy discussion re: the show hopefully isn't taken as personal criticism.

Peace
03/16/2005 Sean Cribbs To my knowledge, the lineage of the version on the LMA (shnid=280) is merely an unconfirmed guess. This seed originally came from Rob Bertrando (ages ago) and for whatever reason never made it to etree until now. You'll also notice that the track timings of the LMA version are shorter across the board, causing me to believe that it is somewhat off pitch. This seed also has aud patches. While I think they work pretty well, there seems to be some kind of uprising against aud patches (and my work in general) lately, so download at your own risk.
03/16/2005 Terrapanda I just tested the patch in Sugar Mag and it sounds good to me. Thanks Sean!
03/16/2005 jb If there's an uprising against aud patches, I'm sure it's just a vocal minority. I know I believe that even if the patch source really sucks, patched is better than cut & missing. It's easy enough to use Soundforge or even CD Wave / AddAWav to remove the patch if you really don't like it, but it's a lot harder to add it if it's not there to start with. Thanks for all your efforts, Sean.
03/16/2005 whata hoot --- how does one get appointed to speak on behalf of the trading community? Just curious. Also, I think the patch job on this is just fine.
03/17/2005 Gary I just listened to this. I doubt if anyone will be disappointed with the quality. Keep 'em coming.
03/19/2005 Lewis/Klitschko I love audience patches, both the idea of them and the great executions, that my critique of 10/29's upgrade is the same I had for 11/17/72's: the bulk of the show is not taken from the soundboard I would have chosen. It's just not as clear and loud as a 10/29 that's out there.
03/20/2005 Sean Cribbs Which one of the two others are you referring to?
03/21/2005 Lewis/Klitschko "Liberated Bootleg," I think it's called? I might have gotten it off Further a long time ago. Took another listen and it's really a full, clear, and loud sound. Here's what I saved of the text file:

grateful dead 10/29/77 Evans Field House, Northern Illinois Univ., Dekalb, IL - liberated bootleg "Play Dead" sbd>?>liberated bootleg>EAC>SHN set one: mighty swell, jack straw, dire wolf, looks like rain, loser, el paso, ramblin rose, minglewood, must've been the roses, let it grow set two: bertha>good lovin', friend of the devil, estimated>eyes>space>drums>nfa>black peter>sugar mags>drums>sunshine daydream *one more saturday night
03/21/2005 terrapanda That would be shnid=14715, ja?
Follow the link to that source and there is only one comment, questioning the quality...
03/21/2005 the space after eyes is the best part of all of 77!
03/22/2005 Lewis/Klitschko Well, I've said my piece and, thanks to Sean and EAC, made my own version. May everyone enjoy their 10/29/77 in whatever form suits them best!
03/22/2005 Sean Cribbs In that case, I encourage you to share with the community what you have put together.
06/02/2008 charlie miller It sounds like the pitch of the patch source does not match the pitch of the sbd source which is what some of the problem may be with the patch.
