12/15/2013 - I'm posting an email from Pete Sears sent to me via Marc stating that he is the bassist on this recording, not Hutch Hutchinson. Nice when you get updated info straight from the source! Hi marc, hope you are well. I noticed this tape trading site that has incorrect credits for a show I played back in 1972 with John Cipollina and "Copperhead". It was a live KSAN FM broadcast from Pacific High Studios in January 1972. Are you familiar with this tape trading company? db.etree.org I shared bass and keyboard duties with Jim McPherson in Copperhead back then, including the show in question...I played the bass solo. The tape trading site has "Hutch Hutchinson's" name as bass player. Hutch didn't join Copperhead until I left the band to play with Nicky Hopkins, and to also fly to England to play on Rod Stewart's "Never a Dull Moment" album. It's a common and quite natural mistake for people to make as they mostly get band personnel information from an official album release. Even though I was a founding member and played with them for many months, I didn't want to sign with Copperhead so I left. As you know Hutch is a great player, and a good friend by the way. Thanks marc. I'm playing a show tonight in San Diego. See you down the line. Cheers, Pete |
