10/26/2001 darrin This lineage sounds suspect! A "ZA2" is an IDE interface computer soundcard that Zefiro makes, and unless the taper brought in a desktop PC, it coudln't have been used -- Zefiro also makes a microphone preamplifier called the Zefiro Inbox (denecke ad20), that outputs a 44.1k digital signal. Perhaps this is what was used?
10/27/2001 Blane That might be the case. I did the taping and transfer, but I used my digi card for the transfer (as noted). The Zefiro device used was the inbox which was patched into Dan and then into me. An error in model names on my part. Zefiro inbox and not Zefiro ZA2. Great tapes nonetheless!
10/27/2001 Brad I have changed the lineage above. It is now accurate, noting the Zefiro Inbox rather than their ZA2 digital soundcard.
11/06/2001 Gary Hull I was wondering if anyone elses copy has skips on the first disc?
11/18/2001 Greg O'Dea My shn set also has skips on disc 1, as Gary Hull reports.

I stopped taking notes there...first skip at random spots in each track, successive skips at 2 minute intervals following the first. Any thoughts?
12/07/2001 Brad Skips have been verified, they are on the SHN's - every 2 minutes. Blane, were these on the tapes?
12/07/2001 brian hormann There are problems with this seed. There are what appear to be skips. You can verify this on disc 1 track 8 between the 46 and 47 second mark. I have found this happening all over the first disc.

I like the source it will just need to be verified that the problems are not on the dat.
12/29/2001 Blane I'm checking things out right now. I'm in going to do a new transfer of set 1 ASAP and post a fixed md5 for the first disc. I'll post again when I get it all done and check it thoroughly.

01/07/2002 Blane Ok, I've redone D1. Apparently there was a problem with my computer and transfers weren't coming out well because of memory issues. I've upgraded to Win2k and it all seems to be running well. The disc (with FIX in the file names) has been uploaded to a server and should start circulating soon.
01/09/2002 Brad Leblanc The info file above has been amended on 1/9/02, Blane fixed disc one and created an updated md5 (see d1fixed). I deleted the old md5 because it shouldn't be circulating in that form. Thanks for fixing this Blane!
