11/05/2001 | Brad | As this set of SHN's stands, it is split into set one and set two. It hasn't been split up into discs.
11/07/2001 | Jason Ho | Many of the tracks are distorted, although the levels do not go over. It sounds like it overloaded the pre.
11/07/2001 | cat | I asked someone with the DATs of this source if there was any distortion and he said "no way". Anyone else hearing distortion? Maybe it was a bad conversion.

I will listen to my master one more time very closely but from what I know the 316 was not overloading based on my knowledge of the red light indicators on the unit(which hit at -12dB from clipping, identical to the v2). I didn't feel that the 316 was hitting excessively hard, though I will admit that contrary to an above post, the 2k did clip a few times in the second set though I don't hear any audible distortion on a moderate stereo, or on a very expensive stereo. Ian was patched out of thsi rig so as long as his DA-P1 heads are alright his transfer should be OK. I am transferring my master to .shns in the next day or so, so maybe keep an eye out for that one. Also, listeners should keep in mind that this show was in an 8,000+ person hockey arena...not the small theatres that you are used to seeing this band in. For the record the Lunatec 316 was set at approx +30dB, the 2K+ was set at 16ns3 wordlength, 20 on the attenuator, and @44.1kHz. |

11/08/2001 | Jason | I think it was the conversion.. There isn't distortion after reconverting. Sorry for the confusion! |
