01/20/2004 | Hokker Van Der Heegan | very nice sounding. This also is a very underrated show. I would say this is a must have simply for the cities jam.
01/20/2004 | I agree that the cities are excellent (esp in the funk dept)...but the jams in set 2 are directionless and a complete snoozer
01/20/2004 | rockin' out on the 8 minute cities, dog!
01/09/2005 | Watch out. A EAC source is being seeded on etree right now. You might not be getting the original seed if you are trading for/bt'ing this show.
01/10/2005 | MoonDog | I'd say that this is a complete waste of time. As previously noted the jams are mindless, don't do a thing, don't go anywhere, won't take you anyplace excercises in how to waste some perfectly good time (playing this show) and wasting money (going to a Phish show of this caliber, burning a show of this caliber to a disc, even a "Staples" disc).
01/10/2005 | eac | Isn't there a EAC gen in the first place? Watch out for what?
01/11/2005 | twatts | "watch out" may mean that there is an EAC version of this circulating, having the same source, yet different transfer. I have no idea... I think he is trying to suggest that just because you have the EACed Schoeps source, you may not necessarily have this particular one.
01/14/2005 | Yes, there IS an EAC source, but what I'm talking about is someone took their converted shns/flacs and made a new seed by EAC from them. This is known as a "re-shn" and the new seed will have the flaws of the new discs (skips, etc) and will not match the original md5s/fingerprints. Basically, there is no need for an additional generation (so many people have the original seed) and you are just polluting the flac/shn pool and undermining people's efforts to have flawless, seeds with a verifiable lineage.
01/14/2005 | Mike Woellert | It looks as if though this might be a different source than the others that are circulating. If the person wanted to circulate this particular Schoeps source, they might have already converted the DAT to CD, and than had to EAC the discs and create SHNs. It looks like there is a circ date of 99. Now if the taper had converted his DAT>SHN with no EAC, than that would be a different story. I have seen plenty of instances where shows have had sources extracted to EAC. Did the person need to convert this with EAC, with 2 existing sources? No. But they are just trying to get all sources circulated. Just my 2 cents. |
