Show Notes:
-from Festival Program: \"the hottest AfroGroove sensation outta NYC since Antibalas! Lead singer
Kaleta performed with the legendary Egypt 80, the final conglomerate of Afrobeats founder, Fela
Kuti. 14 pieces (!) make up this full fledged funk factory. Five drummers. A full horn section.
Lord have mercy. With members from six countries, Akoya cooks up authentic, potent Nigerian
afrobeat gumbo for the soul. This impressively diverse crew delivers a positive political message
via your dancing feet.\"
-IMO: if you like Fela, you\'ll like these guys - very similiar!
-tape about 30\" feet from stage, a bit to the right, FOB, mic stand 8\' high
-some wind noise especially between tunes
-track 5 & 6 are the same tune - someone, who will remain unnamed, leaned on the bag with my DAT
in it and knocked it into reverse during this final tune - I was on it right away and it only
missed about 20 seconds.
-quality: \"A-\" IMO; nice set! enjoy!
