04/14/2001 | Kenny Joyce | You can keep set I together on an 80 min. disc.

True, but then you run into problems with the fades at the end of Wading and the beginning of Sample. I should also add that this seed sounds great! |

Wading is faded out and Sample is faded in... This is annoying as all git-out as I can never piece the entirety of set 1 together seemlessly... This source should be reseeded correctly... Terry |

I have a version recently d/l'd where the fadeout between d1 & d2 overlaps (velvet > sample) it would be an easy fix to make [Set I] fit on a single disc... If anyone has interset in getting this source [No EAC mentioned in the info text] let me know I can host a BT session easily. here is the text that came with my version: Phish November 2nd, 1998 E Centre, West Valley City, UT Source: B&K 4011> Audio Magic Sorcerer Cables> Lunatec V2> Apogee AD1000.DAT at 48khz> Event Gina S/PDIF digital I/O > Cool Edit Pro (48>44.1) high quality setting No normalization was done. There was only room for about a 10% increase without clipping; you could probably go up to 150% or so if you clip the peaks. I figured for this show, since the levels were pretty good, I'd leave it alone and let everyone have an unadulterated source. Disc 1: 1 Tube > 2 Drowned > Jam 3 Jesus Left Chicago 4 Trey tells 'Dead Goat Saloon' story 5 Driver 6 Bittersweet Motel 7 Limb by Limb 8 Wading in the Velvet Sea Disc 2: 1 Sample In A Jar (end of Set I) 2 Cheers > 3 Down with Disease 4 Mango Song 5 Moma Dance 6 You Enjoy Myself Disc 3: 1 Cheers > 2 Harpua > 3 Speak to Me > Breathe 4 On the Run 5 Time 6 The Great Gig in the Sky 7 Money 8 Us and Them 9 Any Colour You Like 10 Brain Damage 11 Eclipse 12 Harpua 13 Ovation > 14 Smells Like Teen Spirit# |

10/07/2003 | Blane | I re-transferred/shared a new version of this same source without the fade. It was being considered along with a scheops source for dankseeding and the group is now essentially dead. Unfortunately I don't have access to this source at hte moment, but will try to track it down.

I got this show from the recent BT session, and I'm guessing it came from j howe's source. Note that the MD5s don't match the ones entered for this source, but the source info matches. I fixed the fade out/fade out like this: 1. merged d1t08 & d2t01 2. deleted samples #15513404 through #15785331 3. saved the file 4. split the tracks I used CoolEdit for steps 1-3 and CD Wave for step 4. Step 1 can also be done with WavMerge, and any or all steps can be done using a good audio editor. If using anything other than CD Wave for step 4, make sure d1t08 is an integer multiple of 588 samples long, or else you'll get an SBE (and the resulting "click") and defeat the purpose of fixing it. d2t01 (which actually becomes d1t09) will have an SBE, but it shouldn't matter since it's the end of the CD & set. Your burner should insert silence (which is OK in this case), or if you're paranoid: add 316 samples of silence to the end of the track or run it through shntool (that track only!) to fix it. Something interesting to note is that it didn't look like the two tracks were in phase with each other. Look at the peak at sample #15513447 vs. the peak at #15785374 (after merging)... one is sampled on the way up and the other on the way down. To minimize the effect of splicing, I chose a nearby zero crossing. My best guess as to the cause of the phase difference is that the show was first split up (with the fades), then resampled 48k>44.1k. Here are the MD5s for the subject tracks: 2426eed95048a8bc954e19aa4a3befd3 *ph98-11-02d1t08.shn 7bf2a8bfc0430dfdfb7116ad0bfbe10b *ph98-11-02d2t01.shn |
