2007 Recollection:

This show was at the Dunsmuir House and Garden in Oakland, California.  This venue was basically a large lawn on the grounds of a beautiful Victorian House, with a spectacular garden.  For the Garcia/Kahn show, they set up a fairly small stage on this wide lawn, and had a couple of PA stacks flanking the stage. The PA was relatively small, and the crowd was small as well.  When we got into the venue, someone with either BGP or whoever put the show on directed us tapers to set up our gear no closer than this arbitrary line they drew on the grass.  We were not that far from the stage at all.  So, yes, there was an "official" taper section at this show...a rarity for Garcia Solo performances, I gather.  Anyway, there was probably 4 or 5 mic stands set up in this area.  A funny thing about this show...here we were, a bunch of Deadheads out on the grass, and there was some kind of formal event going on in the house and garden, it looked like it could have been a wedding reception.  Quite a contrast to the Garcia crowd.  That is about all I remember of the show.  Jerry and John played 2 sets.  Here is my recording.
