Notes:
- d1t01: There are two small flaws. Very minimal so left as is.
- d1t08: There are also a few small in this track. Very minimal so left
as is.
- Big thanks to Greg Holtz for taping and supplying his masters.
- Transfer and edit done by Bgreen
- All Tape flips cross faded, and plugins applied necessary.
- Notes from Greg: Coming from the fiasco that was Deer Creek, we
returned to the tour from hell, and headed to St. Louis. When we got
to the venue and we handed out flyers about how this was the first
time the Grateful Dead have EVER had to cancel a show because of fan
behavior...in the 30 YEAR HISTORY of the band...shameful. Anyway,
the fist night they still had the house lights up the whole show,
as there was still an "active" death threat against Garcia. It was
appalling....man, what a bummer... Anyway, by the 2nd night at
Riverport, the show went off without a hitch, they finally turned the
house lights down, and everyone seem to breathe a collective sigh of
relief. So it kind of felt like the Good Old Grateful dead again...if
for only fleeting moments.... this was certainly a band in decline.
Oh, yeah, did I mention that there was a campground nearby that had
some kind of storm shelter that collapsed when it was full of deadheads
....tragic...the Gods were certainly not coming to our aid. We left
Riverport with heavy hearts....and the tour from hell pulled menacingly
into Chicago, and the Field Of Soldiers...
And now for something completely different: Well, at this particular
show I had a bunch of DATS and analog decks running, and I believe
that this particular recording came about when I plugged a Sony D-6
Analog deck into Mark Nutters B&K rig. I think tht was you Mark (Marc?)
Anyway, thanks go to whoever that was. Your rig definitely sounded better
than mine Thanks to Bgreen for all the good work.
