Grateful Dead April 10, 1978 Fox Theater, Atlanta, GA Recorded by Alan Zimmerman Master Audience Cassette; 2 Sennheiser 421s (or 441s) + Sony 54P> passed through Nakamichi 550> Teac PC-10 (Maxell UD XLII-90s) Transfer and FLAC encoding by David Minches: Master played back on Nakamichi Dragon > ART DI/O > Digital Audio Labs Card Deluxe soundcard > Cool Edit 2000 > flac encoding > FLAC * Patches supplied by SB>MR>PCM>DAT>CD This is an excellent audience recording. There are a couple anomalies caused by the 3 mic setup feeding the Nak 550. According to Alan, they ran the levels a little too high causing the Nak to shut down temporarily at points during the show. The most significant is during the end of Franklin's tower causing the need for the patch. (I normally do not patch auds with SBs but this occurred at too crucial a point in the song to have a cut.) The same issue I believed resulting in most of the encore not being recorded. There are several other unnoted drops in signal which were likely caused by the same issue. disc 1: Set 1: Tuning The Promised Land Brown Eyed Women It's All Over Now Peggy-O Cassidy Dire Wolf El Paso Bobby's Story Row Jimmy disc 2: Set 1: - cont Tuning Passenger Bobby's Story Candyman The Music Never Stopped 2nd Set: Tuning Jack Straw Ship Of Fools disc 3: Set 2: - cont TUning Dancing In The Street -> Drums -> Franklin's Tower * -> Black Peter -> Around And Around Encore: U.S. Blues ** * SB patch for 15:04-15:10 ** SB for entire song
