OldNeumanntapr A big thanks to Abe Pearlstein for giving me one of his pair of comp tickets for this show. A big part of the Grateful Dead scene was always the camaraderie amongst friends and fellow ‘heads, and this was no exception. I couldn’t have done it without you, Abe.

I was able to get off work 30 minutes early and make the one-hour drive to Paso. I got to Vina Robles Amphitheatre at about 5:20, ten minutes before doors opened. After hooking up with Abe at the will call line I was able to meet the rest of my friends who were already in line. We were some of the first inside the venue when the doors opened and we had our pick of seats, as it was a general admission show. This show didn’t sell well, and was never that crowded throughout the night which gave everybody a little extra room. The 100 section had been cleared of seats and was an open dance floor, so I selected a third row center seat in section 202.

The sound at Vina Robles is always 1st rate, and this night was no exception. I thought the band sounded good, though Robb had a 'Bobby moment' during Throwing Stones and forgot some of the words. Art imitates life or life imitates art? ;)
