True story: at the end of the second set, I didn't think it could get much
better than this. I turned to my friend and said, "Man, a rebirtha > hope
couldn't bring this show down! Well, maybe it could..." he nodded in
agreement, and the lights went down for the encore. Oh no - Rebirtha. My
friend about smacked me upside the head. "If they go into Hope, I'll kill
you," he said. And sure enough, there was the transition into Hope. I
couldn't believe it. I had single-handedly jinxed the encore. So maybe
Hope wasn't the best song to go out on, but the rest of the night (and the
other two nights) more than made up for it. The moral of the story is:
just watch what you say, it might come true.
