I am almost always ready for a trade. I follow McNichol for B&P, but am not picky. For many shows I DO NOT know the absolut certain Source. Some I do, and I am updating my list when I am sure. If you are not satisfied with a disc, I will be happy to replace it with any other show or a blank. |

??/??/67 | The Matrix | San Francisco | CA | 1 | CD | From It was a dark and stormy night at the Matrix in '67 ... Jerry, Jorma, Jack, Pig, Unknown drummer - Kidd Candelario supposedly said it's Mickey Hart; or maybe it's Spencer Dryden. We know it's Tuesday as the one dose (oops - I meant disc) has the title 'Tuesday Night Jam'. But we don't know a whole lot else. Wholly molly, Batman (or insert apropos superhero character nom-de-plume here)!@#$%&!!! - is this oldie but goodie 33 years on? To listen to this disc you wouldn't know it. Except that it's great. And that you get to be *almost* the first person on your block to own this recently circulated gem. This is something resembling a setlist: Tuesday Night Jam at the Matrix - 1967 Total time: 53:55 SBD> MR> DAT> CDR Caveat emptor: The disc isn't perfect. It's a 33-year-old performance, for crying out loud ;-) There are tape flips and cuts.
12/16/68 | The Matrix | San Francisco | CA | 1 | CD | Thejerrysite.com: "It's worth noting that at the prior incarnation of this lineup, in October 1968, the "group" was billed as "Jerry Garcia and Friends" and the name "Mickey Hart And The Hartbeats" comes from some onstage banter by Garcia, and no one had thought twice about how the name should be spelled." Deadlists.com: The tapes circulating with this date are from a "Heartbeats" show, without Bobby and Pigpen. (1) with Jack Casady and Spencer Dryden. (2) with Jack Casady and David Getz. This contains a lengthy "The Creator Has a Master Plan" theme and has references to Dark Star, Clementine, and China Cat Sunflower. An extensive search through the old San Francisco Chronicle newspapers failed to turn up any evidence of this event - no advertisements, no announcements in the "on the town" column etc. Bill Gadsden said he copied from Peter Abram "two reels with 45 minutes apiece of Garcia, Spencer Dryden, Cassady, Getz, etc from 12/16/68". A third jam has previously circulated as "Set 3" of this date, but Bill says that it's "with Harvey Mandel from 12/24/68".

05/26/74 | Carnegie Hall | New York | NY | 1 | CDR | James Taylor performed at Carnegie Hall on May 26th and May 27th in 1974. These two shows were probably the final two shows of JT's four-week U.S. tour to promote "Walking Man." The DIR Concert Network had permission to tape both shows and it is not clear whether this version represents one of the shows or a combination of both shows. A shortened version of the show was broadcast by the King Biscuit Flower Hour (KBFH) on 6/30/74 and it may also circulate under that date or the date July 16, 1974. |

04/12/68 | Jimi's room - Drake Hotel | New York | NY | 1 | CDR 1 SHN | Frequently listed as Jimi's apartment, various dates in 1968. All previous entries have been merged into this one. This cd was an official CD that was only available if you purchased the book "Voodoo Child: The Illustrated Legend Of Jimi Hendrix". The book clearly states that these recordings were recorded in NYC around April of 1968; another session book pegs this date as April 12th. The book was published by Penguin Books in the USA, England, Canada and New Zealand and was first published in 1995 but I think it's no longer in print. The book is more like a hard-bound comic book and If anyone wants to try tracking it down, the ISBN# is 0-670-86789-6. |
