A supergroup made up of singer and guitarist John Mayer and members of The Grateful Dead will play two concerts at Fenway Park this summer.
Dead & Company, which includes Mayer, Grateful Dead members Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann, and Bob Weir, Allman Brothers Band bassist Oteil Burbridge, and RatDog keyboardist Jeff Chimenti, will end their summer tour in Boston with one set on Friday, July 15 and another on Saturday, July 16. The band’s repertoire draws from The Grateful Dead’s discography.
Dead & Company will live again this year.
The Grateful Dead spin-off group has announced a 17-date U.S. summer tour, including two-night stands at Citi Field in New York City, Folsom Field in Boulder, Col., Alpine Valley Music Theatre in East Troy, Wisc. and Fenway Park in Boston.
The group — which includes Dead stalwarts Bob Weir, Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann along with guitarist John Mayer, former Allman Brothers Band bassist Oteil Burbridge and longtime Dead cohort Jeff Chimenti on keyboards — last performed on New Year’s Eve in Los Angeles. |
