The Great Went
8/16 + 8/17/1997
Loring Air Force Base - Limestone, ME

Source: Microtech Gefell m296 (omnis, run split about 10 feet apart
aimed directly between the main stacks and the first set of delay stacks)
> EAA pre-amp
Taper: Marc Nutter
Seed: Supplied by John Cocci
Mastering: John Cocci (DAT > CD)
Extraction: Mike Monacella (using WinDAC w/ sector syncronization)

**Special Thanks to John Cocci for all his hard work mastering this show**

Disc Layout:
> Disc 1 - Day 1 Set 1 thru Ginseng Sullivan
> Disc 2 - Day 1 Set 1 con't
> Disc 3 - Day 1 Set 2
> Disc 4 - Day 1 Set 3 thru Funky Bitch
> Disc 5 - Day 1 Encore, Day 2 Set 1 thru Bouncin
> Disc 6 - Day 2 Set 1 con't, Set 2 thru DWD>Jam
> Disc 7 - Day 2 Set 2 con't
> Disc 8 - Day 2 Set 3

**Disc layout chosen was best out of available options in terms of
continuety and disc space - otherwise Disc 5 would only include the
encore of Day 1 and all filler or other non-desireable options**

Known flaws: slight pops at 11:00-11:10 and a larger pop 16:37-16:38
on Wolfman's d3t1 are on orig source- at the nasty click, channels reverse
and may stay that way for the rest of the disc; small pop in NICU d8t2
1:18; Guyute/Dirt on one track, d8t4; note d4t6 "pops" are fireworks

5. Limb By Limb^->
6. Funky Bitch

Disc Five:
Encore:
1. Contact->
2. Loving Cup

*Starts with the theme and Jimmy story, picking up where the song aborted
last year at the end of the Clifford Ball
**With theme from "The Odd Couple" tease/jam.
#With a kind of a twisted "Seven Dwarves" sort of jam.
^Major fireworks are let off behind the stage during the song,
culminating in a great finale display as Funky Bitch kicks in.

4. Guyute, Dirt,
5. Scent of a Mule#->
6. Prince Caspian

Encore:
7. When the Circus Comes->
8. Tweezer Reprise^

*With a "Cities" jam.
**The band members take turns painting large designs at the side of the
stage. Then, the crowd "carries" the pieces of this design to the side of
the venue where it is assembled and hoisted for everyone to see onto a
tower. This wood tower is tall and covered in painted plywood and has
been built during the two shows.
#No Muel Duel.
^The entire art tower was burned to the ground.

Subject: [etree] Went SHN tracking

Those downloading and burning the current circulation of Went may want
to consider the following shift in tracks to save a disc.

This only works if you have the edited version of the Disco Tent Jam
(about 17:00) that seems to be on some ftps.

Add "Disco Tent Jam" as d5t3 (after Loving Cup)
Move "Bouncing" to d6t1 (before Tweezer)

Disc 5 - 72:26
Disc 6 - 63:16

This shift retains set integrity AND puts the "Disco" in its proper
chronological place... everything on 8 instead of 9.
