Notes:
I've been to the Southside Festival 2 times before (2004+2005) but never as a taper (I started taping last year) so this was something special for me. It was my first outdoor recording, the first time I used Soundprofessionals which I borrowed from DaGobert and my first recording with such a big crowd. But those weren't the only difficulties I had to fight against. There were also technical problems, bad weather and so on.

One day before the festival started there was a huge thunderstorm. The smallest stage, Coca-Cola Soundwave Tent (stupid name by the way) collapsed and one of the paramedics died.
The Southside Team decided not to cancel the festival but they were unable to rebuild the Coca-Cola Soundwave Tent. All bands which were scheduled fot this stage had to be canceled.

When the festival finally started on Friday the weather was pretty bad. It wasn't raining but everything was wet and there was mud everywhere. We had to search over one hour to find a place for our tent.

First Gig we went to was Incubus. As it is one of my Top 3 bands I was very happy to finally see them live. When Incubus started the sound was way too quiet cause the PA of the Mainstage also got damaged during the storm and so they had to use the PA of the Secondstage on the Mainstage. On the recording you'll hear the audience very loud. I tried everything to minimize it by changing my position to find a better place so it gets better during the recording but it's still far away from a perfect recording. There are also some small errors in the first song. I decided not to remaster this recording because I would have done more harm than good ;)
I'll post a sample so please judge yourself if it's worth a download.
As for the performance it was a brilliant show although a pretty short one. But it was just festival gig so there's nothing to complain about.

Finally I want to say thanks to DaGobert for giving me his rig and to all those great guys who helped and supported me during my short taping career (you know who you are).

I'll check through my other Southside recordings during the next days. Please be patient. If you get bored I'd be happy to see some more Incubus shows up here :P
