Lineup: Magz, Vix, Jo, Tina
: Philippa (Saxophone), Maria McCallith Appendage[at least that's what it sounds like!] (Keyboard)
: Heavy Drinkers Brass Ensemble
: It sounds like a drum machine on 'XX Sex'.

Since I imagine they'd have taken a break after the Xmas tour this was probably their first gig after that.

Roses played for the first time. Also a surprise appearance of Disco Boogie Song which hadn't been played in 8 months!

After this they did a European tour in March'87. (I only know of 2 existing recordings from that tour, Tomyoungster uploaded both of them recently and they're better than mine so I needn't upload those.)
Then they did a North American tour in May/June'87 from which fuzzpsych recently uploaded the only known recording.
As far I know they only played one more gig after that tour, a Rape Crisis Benefit Gig in Birmingham sometime in September'87 which appears to be their last gig (apart from a brief appearance in 1998).

After that September'87 gig Fuzzbox disappeared, reappearing in Feb'89 as a very different band, although they would continue recording during this time as evidenced by some of the songs on "Fuzz & Nonsense" and "Rules & Regulations to Pink Sunshine".

When they returned, Instead of the shambolic girly punkpop they did slickly produced pop music and they didn't play any live shows. Whereas before, all four girls were more equal - taking it in turns to sing and taking it in turns to play different instruments, now the record company seemed to have promoted Vix to lead singer, and with hindsight this would seem to have been a bad move.

When Fuzzbox split in July 1990 I was told that Vix had left because of "musical differences" and that she was going to live in America and she had a record deal there. The other three had planned to continue (either as a 3-piece or possibly getting a new member) with a plan to doing some gigs. Sadly this never happened.

Now at this point we seem to have an anomaly. The "Fuzz And Nonsense" cd features a track from 1991 and one from 1992 both featuring Vix. This isn't likely if she's left and trying to pursue a solo career. I assume the liberal use of the word "circa" in the sleevenotes means that some of the dates are guesses and that those 2 songs are more likely to be from 1990.

In March/April'97 newspaper articles said they were re-forming to do a tour. This never happened although Magz, Jo & Vix appeared as Fuzzbox at Birmingham Pride in May'98 and did 4 songs. There's a tiny clip of that on youtube - a short interview and a clip of them doing International Rescue. On the "Rules & Regulations to Pink Sunshine" CD there's a 1998 version of "You" which it says is from a failed attempt at a reunion.

In December'99 Maggie & Jo recorded some stuff in the studio with plans to release an album. The only thing to be released from these sessions was track 15 on the "Fuzz & Nonsense" CD along with some old demos and unreleased tracks.
