A pre-FM cassette master cassette I obtained recently, showcasing a seemingly abbreviated acoustic set by the Butthole Surfers.
Although the tape says this occurred on October 23, 1993, the band was NOT in Japan then, as Paul Leary has confirmed. They were, however, in Japan on or around SEPTEMBER 23, so I’m going with this date…though a real ELECTRIC Tokyo show took place on September 30 ,199, and this perhaps was recorded earlier that day…Paul doesn’t even remember an acoustic performance AT ALL, so I guess we’ll never know for sure…but if and until the true info ever comes to light, the Anal Obsession will list it as from this date and ‘unconfirmed’

Anywho, this will leave ya with some blueballs, and wishing they took themselves more seriously as to play an X-Ray, 1401 or Roky…but, alas, it is what it is…and still pretty interesting…
