Howdy and welcome to my ABB flood. Here's the very first offering, a tasty set of outtakes from the Idlewild South seesions. I did omit a few tracks, but otherwise, a very nice set - check the sample.
-------------------------------------------------------
And, in case you missed my rant over at TTD, here's my reasoning of uploading my ABB shows here at Yeeshkul:
Folks, I've made an executive decision. I've decided to upload all of my non-official Allman Brothers Band shows (ABB) in the whotrader archive over at Yeeshkul. That tracker seems to be small enough that it doesn't attract the bug guns like Dime and TTD do. As you all know, KC is not allowed on Dime or TTD but we have been sharing KC shows over at Yeeshkul for several years now, so now it may also be time for ABB.
I believe the ABB internet sharing ban was established about 20 years ago in the 1990's. At the time, it made sense because ABB has an open taping policy meaning that every ABB show since 1989 has been recorded in one form or another. The sharing ban was established to avoid saturation among fans and to keep folks attending the ABB shows.
Now, we fast forward 20 years later. Only 2 of the original members are still around, and I think we have seen the last true ABB show since Gregg left us a few months ago. IMHO, it seems the internet sharing ban has run its course.
Besides the classic '70s shows with Duane, the other really special period in the ABB timeline are the Dickey / Warren / Woody shows from 1989-1997. Those are truly special shows and I have well over 100 shows from this period to share including masters, low-gens and soundboards. I really enjoy listening to the ABB shows from this period.
As many of you know, I have been transferring and sharing the whotrader archive for several years now. ABB is my last untouched artist that needs to be shared with the masses. Here's the last reason why I want to share these shows now. I'm not getting any younger - neither are you. Although I raised three great kids who love music, they all have their own musical preferences and don't really care for Dad's classic rock archive. Bottom line, after I pass, my entire music collection will be heading to the trash can, so all the more reason to try to share the music I have now while we can all still enjoy it for the short years we still have remaining in this lifetime.
When we uploaded the KC shows, we did a really good job of policing ourselves to ensure we were not sharing any official material. Hopefully, we all will use the same care when sharing the ABB shows. If you have any comments, please just PM me. I must say that the folks here at TTD have been wonderful letting me upload the whotrader archive with minimal interference over that past several years. I want to be respectful to TTD with their choice to enforce the ABB sharing ban. OK, enough ranting, see you folks over at Yeeshkul for a Peachy time.
