This one was seeded here before. For this reseed, I've added some more info about track titles and durations. Since I only had a CDR of this, this one turned out to be a "sort of" *RESEED*. No further adjustments were made considering sound characteristics.

info from original uploader:

Source: AT853rx (omni) > Fostex FR2-LE (Busman T-mod) @ 24/48 (mics at stage lip)
Transfer: CF Card > Adobe Audition 2.0 (fades, Waves L3 Multimaximizer, Resample to 16/44.1) > CD Wave (tracking) > FLAC

Taped and Transferred by Blane. Thanks to Mark for the moral support.

Note: The soundstage changes slightly between sets 1 and 2 because I widened my microphone spread slightly, and because Ken shifted his location on stage.

Powerhouse Sound formed in the summer of 2005, originally with Lasse Marhaug on electronics and Paal Nilssen-Love on drums. Ken Vandermark wrote all the compositions with the idea of building the music from the perspective of the bass instead of the more conventional approach of composition construction, "from the top down", as he puts it. "The three major influences I considered when putting the music together were the rhythmic ideas of James Brown, the dub ideas of Lee Perry and the collage ideas of Public Enemy."

The new line up, made of 2 Tortoise members Jeff Parker (guitar, electronics) and John Herndon (drums) and completed with Nate McBride (electric bass, effects), continues to work from these original concepts developed at the band's start. However, with the obvious shifts in personnel and differences in instrumentation, Powerhouse Sound is undoubtedly here
to test any and all genre "qualifiers" used within the independent music industry today.
