DVD-FAQ:
Q: Do I need a special DVD-Audio player to play this disc?
A: Although there's no footage on this DVD, it is technically a normal Video-DVD, so it's playable with every standard DVD-player without limitations.
Q: Did you apply a fake surround effect to the stereo?
A: As the show was already mixed in Quad, I haven't had to add anything artificial. So you'll be getting the original Quad sound here, only restored and remastered.
Q: Do I need four loudspeakers to hear the Quad-version properly?
A: Yes, you do not only need four loudspeakers but a multichannel amplifier as well. A standard 5.1 system will do it nicely (center and subwoofer are muted then).
Q: Will I notice any real difference between the stereo version and the quad version?
A: Definitely. And just because this is no crappy fake surround effect, but the real thing!
Q: If this gem is originally a video show, has it been shared, too?
A: I'm afraid this show has never been a video show and there's no footage on the DVD either, just stills.
Q: Will there be a PAL version of the stills video?
A: As almost every PAL DVD-Player is able to play NTSC as well (this fact was the reason I chose NTSC for worldwide compatibility), there's a definite no.
Q: I have trouble with DTS, it's not working. What can I do?
A: Many DVD players can't decode DTS, even if they have a DTS logo - they seem to play the DTS audio track but the analogue outputs are muted then. Then you can only hear something if you connect a DTS-capable surround receiver via SPDIF.

CD-FAQ:
Q: I see there are no individual flac files - so do I need to manually split the file into individual tracks if I want track information on my cds?
A: No, please read the "TM Productions CD burning guide.pdf" file first. It's very easy.
Q: What are the advantages of huge single flac files (1 per CD) compared to individual track files?
A: I use to spend much effort in providing a professional CD-mastering-layout and it's special features get lost after splitting into individual files. These are the advantages:
1. you are easily able to burn the CDs identical to my masters (including my special mastering method of using the pre-gap area of the tracks for the spoken introductions and other in-between banter).
2. CD-track times shown by the player match the artwork.
3. it's impossible to get 2 sec gaps between the tracks.
4. the CDs and the tracks are fully labelled by CD-Text.
5. you can use (almost) every burning program because the cue-sheets are standard compliant now.
6. eases and accelerates my workflow, as I'm always processing one continuous wav-file per CD anyway.
Q: Which programs are able to burn by cue-files?
A: ExactAudioCopy (http://www.exactaudiocopy.de), Burrrn, CD-Wave, Nero Burning ROM (to name a few).
Q: I can't burn the CD with the cue-sheet. I'm always getting the error: "Error in CUE sheet! File does not exist in line 3" Is there a solution to this, please?
A: "Error in line 3" means that the burning proggie is unable to find the audio-file. Please check the following:
a) cue-file and audio-file must be stored in the same folder.
b) make sure you are using the right cue file - the wav-cue file is only valid after you converted the audio to WAV, if it's still FLAC, you have to use the flac-cue file instead (of course your program must be able to handle FLAC then).
Q: I use a MAC, is there a program like EAC or Nero that burns cue/wav-files?
A: Unfortunately, I'm unaware of any Mac program that burns cue/flac or cue/wav file combinations correctly. But XLD can split and convert a continuous FLAC file into individual WAV or AIFF files by using the cue-file information: http://tmkk.hp.infoseek.co.jp/xld/index_e.html
Q: I dont know how to convert FLAC to WAV - so which (free) program do you recommend for that?
A: http://flac.sourceforge.net/download.html
Q: I think I understand that FLAC is better than WAV? If that is correct what software do you recommend for a PC to play FLAC files?
A: FLAC and WAV is exactly the same audio quality, the only thing that makes FLAC "better" is the fact that it requires only about 50-60% of the storage space/download bandwidth. So FLAC is similar to ZIP, but specialised for audio data. The most important thing is, it's lossless - unlike mp3 you get exactly the same WAV-data back after unwrapping.
You can easily get all kinds of plugins to use FLAC with the usual common PC media players.
Q: There are obviously no title an performer entries on the burnt CD though they are in the CUE file.
A: You have to make sure that your CD-burner is able to write CD-Text: In EAC, press the "Options"-button right next to the CD-burner dropdown-Box in the CD Layout Editor window. Go to the last tab "Writer" and see if "Drive is able to write CD-Text" is checked. If not, test it by clicking "Detect write features".
