Notes:
Holy shit.

I'm not sure how else I can sum up what has to have been the greatest concert in all my life. Not having been old enough (nor overseas) to experience this concert back in 1980, $330 ticket or not, it was something I had to do before I die. I'm sure glad I did it.

Roger is a creative genius and I can see just how much of a driving force he was in Pink Floyd. That may offend the Dave Gilmour fans and by no means is it a dig at his talented self but Roger has truly brought to me what it must've been like in the 80's. It is the closest to Pink Floyd that I would ever get and I'm glad I got! :)

I won't go into a lot of detail from a performance point of view other than to be aware of my close proximity to the stage meaning you will hear pyrotechnics which sound like the mics were cracking in the track "In the Flesh?". Unavoidable and unmaskable, I'm afraid. I tried my best but it only ruined the recording. Sorry!

Then there are the bastards who insist on talking during the performance. I'm sorry but people pay to listen to the performer, not other people yapping! Kindly shut the hell up or get out. Unfortunately, this did affect the recording somewhat with a tool behind me constantly yapping to his other half. The cardioids can only do so much to filter out such stupidity but it the chatter is slightly noticeable - enough to piss me off.

Technically, Roger's audio guy, Trip, is a brilliant engineer. My only gripe would be that the vocals had a bit too much midrange in them and you will notice this too. Unfortunately, this arena is notorious for its deadly resonance in the midrange area and many a band have fallen victim to it.

As such, I had to come to a compromise so as not to destroy the rest of the band in the process of taming the midrange. Otherwise, the mix was so damn good that very little processing really needed to be done.

I went easy on the dynamic compression so as to preserve the full dynamic range that Roger dictated that evening. The whole purpose of these recordings is to relive the moment and I certainly hope I can help you do that too.

Which is why I've justified two versions of this recording. This one is at its full native resolution of 96kHz/24bit. For those of you who would prefer a lesser resolution (and smaller file sizes!), I have also produced a downsampled version of this to 44.1kHz/16bit using Ozone 5 to handle the dithering as it only does best. I never use anything else.

So, here it is in all its glory ... Roger Waters - The Wall.

All feedback appreciated. Enjoy!

...and please, don't sell this bootleg, otherwise you're just plain old scum. That and Roger will make you uncomfortably numb.
