Much thanks to Trevor Blake for recording and giving me a few of his Master Tapes. This is the second of two Sun Ra tapes, recorded at the same club.
Very good / excellent sound. Wonderful version of 'Somewhere Over The Rainbow' here
( track 8 ). When I was given a couple of Trevor's Sun Ra master tapes he told me a story about some of the band members working their way through the crowd, as they often did, on this night. He spoke of a percussionist that was moving past his table and saw his tape recorder . . . so, he leaned in and beat on his cowbell directly into/toward Trevor's recorder. When I heard that today I was laughing, great stuff ! Anyhow, this is a very nice set and recording. Enjoy the show !
Although I am a pretty big fan of Sun Ra and own many recordings I have not attempted to
make a set-list. I know a couple of titles here, but I figured that at least one of
the folks who grab this will post a proper/complete set-list and/or line-up. Please and Thnk You ! I know that there are some hard-core Ra fans here. The name for the band comes from the annoucement at the end of the set presented here. First the M.C. says . . " . . Outer Limits Cosmo Jet Set Orchestra . . . second time, Outer Limits Omniverse Orchestra. Enjoy the show.
