-Here's the 2nd Sun Ra one from my vault that I recently digitalized onto hard drive for someone else, that's apparently not made the rounds too
widely yet. It comes from my copy of a friend's copy of Wes' 1st gen tape. wes, the drummer in our band at the time, used to go to many jazz shows
in NYC in the '80's and taped everything he went to on a little Aiwa deck. He ended up meeting some traders from Boston and Philly areas and started
trading with them, so that's how he got this one. Thanks Wes! Wonder where you are these days? Sorry, your hero Joe Zawinul is no longer with us.
Wes emulated the Zawinul Syndicate in his drumming/percussion style.
-sound on this one is much better then 11/8/81 - I'd give it an "A-/B+" - what do you think Jazzrita?
-this show is absolutely smokin'! A hard bopping mid-80's Ra gig - I know many DIMERS prefer the earlier stuff but I love the mid-80's bopping just
as much.
-as for the date - did not see it on Web, but they played New Haven 4 days later for sure, so I'm feeling pretty good on this one.
-Could use help with rest of setlist since I'm never 100% sure with instrumentals
-digitalized, re-mastered and seeded by matt23.
