Notes:

This was my 37th Yes show and the first time the band has performed at the Orpheum (it's also the first time they've played downtown Los Angeles).
The three album tour was a rather unique concept for the band and it was fantastic that this led to the opportunity for me to hear "A Venture" live
for the first time. And considering this was only the 4th show of the tour, they all seemed to play rather well. I can only assume that the time
spent on having proper rehearsals benefitted their performance greatly. The downsides to the show were: Howe seemed to get upset at the monitor
engineer a couple of times--especially during the beginning of "SK" when Howe made hand motions indicating he couldn't hear and then walked off the
stage for a brief moment (I'm only mentioning this in case you wonder why his playing is messed up at the beginning of that song); Geoff's playing on
"CTTE" is odd, but considering his recent loss, I'm amazed he is playing as well as he is.

There is talking and some minor phasing during the early part of "CTTE" as people were trying to find their seats. It's at its worst about 9 minutes
into that same song since it was like musical chairs in my row due to people sitting where they weren't supposed to be. There is more minor phasing
and the sound of a plastic cup being kicked in "AYAI" from when the proper seat owners finally arrived. There's more minor phasing in the early part
of "YIND" as people went by me in the row, as well as two further moments of phasing in "Roundabout." There's loud talking during "TOTC" as people
walked past me and a few shutter noises during "YIND." Fortunately, no one around me talked over the songs, but there were two drunken idiots in the
section across from me who can be heard talking in the background through "WS." I'm thankful that I wasn't near them because one of them kept leaving
his seat to walk to the front of the stage, much to the annoyance of the people who had to keep moving for him. And finally, the loudest applause came
from the man behind me, who I swear was clapping into the back of my head (he had his feet at my armrest, so his arms probably extended a similar
distance from his body).

Many thanks to interlude2 for letting me have the aisle seat so I could take pictures (and for putting up with the chatty fellow with the munchies).
Hopefully you all like pics of Howe because he was the only one I could take unobstructed photos of (all the others will have heads in the shots). If
you'd like to see more pics from the evening, please refer to my photo set at http://www.flickr.com/photos/kling_klang/

I amplified this but did nothing else to the recording, so be sure to turn it up. And if burning to cd, the suggested split is between "WS" and "Awaken."

Please support the band by buying their official releases and merch and seeing them live.
