Notes: This was a house concert in the living room of a private home in the Oakland hills There were about 30 lucky people in attendance. The artists graciously allowed me to record. The microphones were positioned immediately next to the piano, mics pointed into the cavity of the piano. There was a technical problem with the deck at the end of the first set causing the loss of the last minute or two of the first set. Thanks to Andy and Vicky for organizing the event, and to Steve and Tesi, our hosts.
Tom is blogging his current tour at
http://tommcdermottblog.blogspot.com
from that blog about this gig, Tom writes:
"My last night in town I played a concert in the Oakland Hills, arranged by Andy and Vicki Rosoff. It was swell, with magnificent eats and a full house, including my NOLA/Oakland friend Michael Goodwin, who called out requests and provided alternative commentary. At evening's end, I felt suffused with well-being. The level of food, education (and expense) is intoxicating in the Bay Area. Though I never had the chance to live here, it's good to know that I can visit any time."
