Members of HCR sat in for a number of songs during the set.
Notes:
This was the maiden voyage of the Korg MR-1 to tape a concert. This thing is notorious for its short battery life (Hard drive + 1-bit
2 MHz encoder = Power Sucker). It coincidentally died at the end of the first song of the encore. I unfortunately grabbed a used set of batteries for the external battery pack, and the spare set of fresh batteries I brought, I forgot in the car. It is a shame because the recording turned out very good.
The backup source for the HCR set that was used to patch the first few seconds was my camcorder. Unfortunately I can
't use this to patch the encore because I had battery issues with that thing too. The only audio source I have is a backup video recorder that I was running. It has horrible audio (mics are terrible, it records in AC3) that mangles the sound into an unlistenable mess.
Live and learn!
Thanks to the band, Ryan Kingsbury, vanark for the setlist, Steve (the dude-in-charge) at the Belly-Up, and all the people at the Belly-Up around me who were so cool and respectful of my set up.
