I joined willSFC for this show at the historic Sloss Furnace venue. We hit the lot about a half our before the doors. I enjoyed a 16 oz Heineken while we listened to Phish from the pickup next to us and waited on Dennis and Jeff to arrive.
As we entered the venue and started setting up stands, it started to rain ... hard. The wind blew rain into the partially enclosed "shed" and the crew started covering the soundboard and equipment on stage. The rain cooled us off for a bit and the show started one time with Jackie Greene.
The Mule came out about 9 p.m. opening with "Blind Man in the Dark," which they opened with at the Alabama Theater in October 2007. The first set ran nine tracks. The second set started at about 10:30 p.m. with "Child of the Earth."
I enjoyed this show because there were several tracks I hadn't heard live. I was floored by the "Loser" and "Monkey Man," two of my favorite songs by two of my favorite bands.
enjoy!
